came back from Japan a little week ago :o
with my friend Raphaëlle Giaretto aka Side Quest, who played her first ever live sets there! and it was stunning :)))
we met the best people there. it's heartbreaking to meet people who are living on the other side of the planet.... when are we going to see them again??
the diy scene there is so active and brillant. but people are paid very badly for their performances (depending on the audience, but average is ¥5000 for what i saw), and the most common live format is 30minutes long! a lot of sets in a night, and things go fast. very different from what i'm used to in europe or in the US
i enjoyed it a lot though, and might come back.......
next, summer break! and a few concerts. but mostly a break. i need that.
btw i forgot to write about it last time, but when i was in Bündner Rigi residency in Switzerland, i composed a song for noro (my cat, see pic in the note of january). i play it live now, and i printed on canvas a 80*60cm photo of him that i show to the audience so that they can picture him while i play the song. it feels good to carry a bit of noro around when i'm on tour. we love each other so much!! see you!!!

spring is hitting hardddd
i feel so good!! so much dandelion and cherry flowers covering the ground and wandering in the air.
i will travel a lot these next two month, to play concerts and have residencies.
i am releasing the remixes of my track "it was about time" during the whole season, hope you'll like them all! i'm sooo glad to have my music modified by my friends <3 it feels like fusing in a way
enjoy the growth of the leaves :))

this week we had a "music marathon" with my housemates and friends, in Uzerche.
each day, we randomly chose a theme, and we had the day to compose an original track about this theme.
monday: bond énigmatique
thursday: naturaliste brodée
wednesday: bouillon de couleurs confuses
thursday: jonction de plusieurs tunnels
and today: a capella tout nu! (i still have to compose it :o)
oh yeah
we will put the tracks on internet later. i will post the link!
the weather was perfect the whole week. sunny late february, i really love them

the first day of spring, one of my favourite seasons <3 among fall, summer and winter that are on my list as well
i will release some remixes of this track made by artists i loooove throughout the spring season and then release an EP with the track, all the remixes and some bonus track(s), the first day of summer! :))

mixing!! mixing mixing.
i'm mixing some tracks for Simon aka DJ Startup. we will release his album on my label "illogique musique".
we are in le Château Ephémère, Carrière-sous-Poissy, somewhere in the far suburbs of Paris.
i really love mixing.

i'm now working on this website! it wont be release before a few days, or more if i decide (or have to) work on something else. this is the current state of the website:



pretty close to the final version that you can see right now, i guess!

i'm working in my new studio. i rehabilitated a shed in our garden, it took me some time and money but it was worth it! now i can work in a good sounding environment, and cosyyy 😎 it looks like this:



it's not perfect (but what is?): there are rodents in the walls probably eating the cables as i'm writing these lines (i can hear them right know), and water leaks some times, but i feel good and focused in here. and i love the view on the garden so much!! 🌱
i'm also recording a new track, these days. i'm a little stressed out because i want it to be good, putting some pressure on myself. but that's the game.

it's a 14 minutes long track, and there will be some remixes by artists i love... more to know later!

note to self: i'm note sure if i make a system to archive all my blog notes... or if replace a note with another. i was always lazy with archiving stuff. mabe i could stay this way. and the important stuff will go to the other sections eventually... so... i don't know.

Almond Butyl - Natural Idol

my last solo album, released in 2024 on the label White Garden. i made it while having weird thoughts about nature/culture kind of stuff, and i wanted to sing songs about my feeling of belonging and not belonging (in the same time) to what we call nature.
this serious yet very funny paradox is at the origin of many cognitive dissonances i can feel almost everyday. our western lifestyle implies to kill, destroy, in the most discreet and forgettable ways. in the meantime we tend to fantasize nature, often for the best (better than ignoring it), but subtly awkwardly.
i wanted the music to be fun, happy, dancy, and i used synthetic voices generators (no AI) to sing my texts. i was far from ready to use my real voice for my songs at this time (for gender identity reasons), and i had a lot of fun playing with the weird textures and phonems of the voice synth. i found it weird and funny to be this artificial while singing about nature, but intuitively relevant.
there are a lot of love songs inside <3
friends made awesome videos for some of the songs (thanks to them!), and with my friend Edgar we made the video of the song "Natural Idol" together.
we had so much fun making it! we had this idea of making puppets with what we could find in the forest. later, Edgar facilited workshops to invite people to make their own forest puppets, that we called "mini-moovers".

Agar Agar - Player Non Player

the last album we made with Clara Cappagli (aka Clara Kimera), released in 2023.
i remember having a blast composing these songs. we wrote a hole universe around a video game made by our friend Jonathan Coryn, both works made for each other (the album being the soundtrack of the video game, and the video game an immersive illustration of the album).

Armand Bultheel - Lullabies for Computers

some lullabies i made for my computer in 2020 (under my deadname lol).
i realised that my computer helped me so much to sleep (with music, movies, series...). it was almost always in my bed, ready to bewitch me with its diffuse colors and sounds. i wanted to thank him by making what i know: music. 7 lullabies made with analog synthesizers, and a vocal bonus track addressed to the first computer to ever have sung a song.

Quest for the even Ahalbums

7 albums or EP released in a text video game, in 2020.
i compiled a bunch of unreleased tracks i had made in the past 3 years, just to release it somewhere on the internet!
i then had the idea to release them inside a custom web-player, that i slowly transformed into a text video game... in this game you have to solve quests to collect the 7 ahalbums :) this way i could contextualize every work to give out their meanings.

two 2-track releases on Volonté Records, 2020. La Volonté is an artist run space near Paris. I have friends there who run the label Volonté Records (Mael Boga and Hugo Vercken). They used to release only 2-tracks, which i found really pleasant to make, and easy to release. i just let myself have some fun composing these tracks. :)))

Agar Agar - The Dog and the Future

our second release and first album with Agar Agar! in 2018.
we composed it in the Pays Basque in winter. a lot of rain and rough sea accompanied us in the process, and in these 3 month we found a lot of joy doing other things like drawing on t-shirts, playing video games and shoot flaming arrows in the garden.

Motherlode - Murder in the Pool

my very first release! in 2016.
i made these tracks as a soundtrack of a series of drawings by Groduk&Boucar artist duo. their prints were influenced by the atmosphere of the video game The Sims 2, and the odd liminal sensation we could feel from it. i made music to illustrate the thoughts of a murderer, that would remove the pool ladder of their sims to let them drown while watching from above :o

i will document this section later. i think i want to release the website before haha.
i have pictures to take, texts to write about the things, it will take some time but i'll do it! promise :))
